pre-turkey.
- there are christmas decorations up in the lobby of my building. but pre-thanksgiving? ah well, it nonetheless makes me all mitteny.- i went to brooklyn for the second time in two weeks. i felt worldly.- last night i ate pumpkin soup (yes, still) and three ears of corn-on-the-cobb.- while eating, i used seven napkins. i suppose the fact that the napkins are stolen from the mcdonald's near my house and about one-third the size of real napkins mitigates this a bit. that's .78 real napkin per cobb of corn. (but still.)
with a fuzzy feeler.
happy happy birthday, dickiedoo.here are some links especially for you.- if i could, i would give you a ghillie suit.- science girl, science girl, tell me how these work.- lizard-meat hysteria. i'll leave it at that.[i should mention that these links came from the manhattan user's guide.]
a situation in orange.
i cooked. quite a bit.
- wiener schnitzel.
- roasted pumpkin seeds.
- pumpkin soup.
i now have about two gallons of pumpkin soup. maybe one and a half.
and i still have one pumpkin left. perhaps it's time to venture into pies. or perhaps next weekend i will make another two gallons of pumpkin soup.
unshelled.
yesterday, i was walking around fort tryon park doing my photo thing. there's a lookout there where you can watch the sun set over the GW bridge. a man had surrounded himself with the following things:- a plastic cup of white wine.- a paper bag of nuts (for the squirrels, of course).- an am/fm radio playing the classical station.
dirt is clean when there is a volume.
i've been lax for no reason. but.
i hosted an impromtu party on friday:
- corn pancakes.
also recently, i (i, i):
- skinned my knees.
- typed on my smith-corona super sterling typewriter.
- washed a cat.
- got scratched by said cat while trying to wash him.
- cooked more squash and some salmon.
